Insight Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors that sets the organization’s strategic direction, oversees its finances and programs, and keeps it accountable to the communities it serves. Our members bring experience in education, technology, business, and community organizing.

Meet the board
Eight directors currently serve on the Insight Foundation board.
Alan Kocak
President
Dr. Alan Kocak is a physics teacher in New Jersey with more than two decades of experience in science and mathematics education. Since beginning his teaching career in 2003, he has taught physics and mathematics courses at a range of academic levels. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics Education and a doctoral degree in Education, and has long been committed to serving his community through education, leadership, and civic engagement.
Huseyin Farsak
Treasurer
Huseyin Farsak completed his primary and secondary education in Adana, Türkiye, then studied in China, where he became fluent in advanced Chinese and English and organized cultural events in China and Taiwan. He is a founding member of the Turkish-Taiwanese Businessmen’s Association and served as economic enterprise manager for the Turkish-Chinese Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association. He works as a warehouse manager in Pennsauken, New Jersey, and is the father of three.
Sevket Tutar
Chief Executive Officer
Sevket Tutar has more than 25 years of experience in administration and education, including many years as a school principal, and has helped bring a number of educational institutions into operation. He holds a Master’s degree in Education from Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan and is fluent in English, Russian, Kyrgyz, Kurdish, and Turkish. He serves as director of Insight Foundation, a nonprofit organization in South Jersey.
Sumeyra Ozturk
Board Member
Sumeyra Ozturk brings nearly 20 years of experience in youth mentoring, community service, and education. She taught computer science at the middle and high school levels in several states for eight years, holds a Master’s degree in Software Development, and is an Adjunct Computer Science Instructor at Rowan College of South Jersey, where she has taught programming for seven years. At Insight Foundation she mentors young people, advises Congressional Award participants, and has helped lead after-school and women’s enrichment programs.
Nur Tekin
Board Member
Nur Tekin is an educator focused on cultural education and community outreach. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-School Teacher Education from Ankara University and came to the U.S. through a cultural exchange program, beginning her U.S. teaching career at Edep Academy. In 2023 she joined Insight Foundation as a Turkish language instructor for 1st through 5th graders in its Weekend and Summer School programs, and since August 2024 she has led the Foundation’s Outreach Team and its interfaith dialogue initiatives.
Ali Yakar
Board Member
Ali Yakar is a front-end developer with over 20 years of experience designing and building user-centered web applications, with expertise in UI/UX design, front-end architecture, and cross-functional collaboration. At Insight Foundation he supports the organization’s digital presence, improving the user experience across platforms and advising on scalable, accessible technology solutions.
Ibrahim Gorgec
Board Member
Ibrahim Gorgec is Co-Founder of Mosaic Art Studio, a global social enterprise dedicated to fostering cultural understanding through traditional and experiential arts, which has expanded to 26 studios in 9 countries and served more than 400,000 people. He studied and lived in Hong Kong for over a decade and served as Secretary General of the Turkish-Chinese Industrial Businessmen Association. He brings experience in international business and cultural exchange to Insight Foundation’s board.
Emin Yavuz
Board Member
Emin Yavuz is an entrepreneur and business owner with more than 20 years of experience in enterprise management, operational strategy, and large-scale project execution. He has built and directed independent business ventures, with a focus on financial stewardship, resource allocation, and organizational development. On the Insight Foundation board he contributes to nonprofit governance, youth programs, and long-term planning for the Foundation’s growth and community outreach.
